Volunteer With Us!

Value of Volunteering

As a non-profit professional association, the BPMA relies solely on dedicated volunteers to help us grow and innovate. Volunteers come from a variety of roles, career stages, and organizations; bringing different skills, perspectives, and experiences that help us continuously enhance opportunities for our member community.

But it’s not just about helping us – getting involved as a volunteer can open doors for you!

As a volunteer, you’ll broaden your professional network, strengthen your resume, and have an opportunity to sharpen your leadership skills. Volunteers receive a free BPMA membership for the duration of your volunteering assignment and are invited to attend all programming events for free. Join us and be part of a top-notch group of professionals dedicated to improving the careers of others.

Please allow 5 business days for a response to your application.

Volunteer Opportunities

BPMA is always on the lookout for motivated and enthusiastic individuals who would like to contribute their time and expertise to the Boston product community. Volunteering is a great way to get involved, enjoy rich networking opportunities, and showcase your expertise.

Volunteers join a specific team depending on their area of interest. Most teams have multiple members, and the workload is shared. We ask for a full year commitment of 1-3 hours per week, depending on your team’s needs.

Volunteers make a commitment to BPMA and its initiatives to grow and develop its members' careers. We also make a commitment to our fellow volunteers with thoughtful and timely collaborations and communication. Please keep this in mind as you apply and serve.

Marketing volunteers help with communications like our weekly newsletter, Product Executive Forum invites, LinkedIn posts and various other promotional initiatives throughout the year. Work includes a variety of tasks from more detail-oriented to high-level brainstorming and content creation.

Programming & Events volunteers help BPMA host premier events for the local Boston product community. You will coordinate with product leaders to generate event content and partner with local companies for hosting events.

Sponsorship volunteers help create value for BPMA sponsors that support programs. You’ll work on prospecting new leads, account management, and communicating sponsorship details to the other BPMA teams.

Mentorship and Employer Relations volunteers help BPMA members up-level their career through mentorship or career opportunities. You may focus on supporting our mentor/mentee recruitment and matching efforts, or on managing employer relations and the job board.

Membership and Volunteer Staffing volunteers strengthen our member community and improve our volunteer experience. From tactical to strategic tasks, you will help shape the BPMA value proposition for our members and dedicated volunteers. Collect, track, and analyze feedback to identify gaps, opportunities, and support the membership journey. This position is great for those who like to think of new ways for our members to make the most of their experience.

Technology volunteers ensure we have the right platforms, systems, and access to support positive member experiences. As part of this team you will support the full tech stack. You will guarantee volunteers and teams have the tools and data they need to support the BPMA community.

Web Content volunteers enable BPMA to be a go-to resource for product knowledge. This is accomplished by providing insights and thought leadership through our blog and website. As part of this team, you’ll brainstorm and create blog posts and write copy and update our website.
