Boston Product Management Association (BPMA)

BMPA has created this privacy statement to demonstrate our firm commitment to your privacy. The following paragraphs describe in more detail the information gathering and dissemination practices for the BPMA website (www.bostonproducts.org) and how your information is used and shared. Your information will not be sold or traded to a third-party at any time.

What does the BPMA do with the Information You Provide?

BPMA Registration

The BPMA registration form requires registrants to provide contact information (like name, company), demographic information (like industry, size of company) and unique preferences.

The information we gather from our members helps us personalize and continually improve the benefits we offer our membership. This information can better help us understand the interests and backgrounds of our members and can be used in the selection process for guest speakers. It can also be used to send information you requested.

This information may also be used in aggregate form when combined with all membership data (e.g. the number of members from a particular industry) for purposes of attracting quality services and benefits for our members. No individual information is ever given to a third party without your permission.

BPMA Membership Forums

The BPMA website makes chat rooms, forums, message boards, and/or news groups available to its members. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information when replying to or creating new online posts.

BPMA Online Member Profile

When setting up your online Member Profile you will be able to configure the information visible to other members by selecting the MyBPMA link within the BPMA online forum. The only required public field for your online member profile is Name. You may change your public profile at any time. Member profiles allow other BPMA members to communicate with you (such as through email) without obtaining your personal contact information.

BPMA Surveys

Surveys are used to collect demographic and profile data (like company and title) and can be shared with advertisers on an aggregate basis. No individual information is ever given to a third party without your permission.

Changing Your Information: You can update your Member Profile at any time by selecting the MyBPMA link within the BPMA online forum.

E-mail Communications: If you do not want to receive email communications from us, you can (1) change your Member Profile or (2) unsubscribe from the BPMA newsletter.

Does the BPMA Share the Information It Receives?

Your information will not be sold or traded to a third-party at any time. During the use of the BPMA online forums, only the profile information you specify within in your MyBPMA member profile will be public.

How Secure Is Information About Me?

It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer.

Passwords

Your membership profile is protected by a password. You choose a password when you first register to become a member. Do not share your password with anyone else. Your password needs to:

• be between 4 and 10 characters long
• include both numbers and letters
• not contain symbols (*, $, #, %, etc.)
• not be a word in the dictionary

Valid passwords: F3M8N1, Samue8l, B1962illa

Make sure to select a password that isn't obvious. A good password includes seemingly random letters and numbers, for example, F3M8N1. You can change your password at any time, and you can set a new password in case you forgot your old one.

Cookies

Cookies are text files that are placed in your computer's browser to store your preferences. Cookies, by themselves, do not disclose your e-mail address or other personally identifiable information unless you choose to provide this information. Information in cookies includes preferences you select while visiting a particular Web site. For example, by storing cookies on your hard drive, you'll return to a specific Web site with the same settings you used on a previous visit. BPMA never saves information such as your password or credit card number (if applicable) using cookies. We do require cookies in order to manage and protect your BPMA session, and if you choose, to store your BPMA login id. If you have cookies turned off, you will not be able to access the BPMA members' area.

Conditions of Use, Notices, and Revisions

If you choose to visit the Boston Product Management Association website, your visit and any dispute over privacy are subject to this Notice, including limitations on damages, arbitration of disputes, and application of the law of the state of Massachusetts. If you have any concern about privacy at the Boston Product Management Association, please send us a detailed description and we will try to resolve it.
